Visitors to Grand Teton National Park have been disappointed about the hazy, gray cast over the mountains in the past few days. Fires in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington have spread smoke thickly across the landscape–some of the smoke even reached West Virginia. Despite the mountains seeming a bit more distant and perhaps less crisp, there’s still beauty everywhere! Sometimes you just have to look down at your feet.
And in case anyone ever doubted our interconnectedness with everywhere else on Earth, the stretch of smoke across an entire continent serves as a meaningful reminder.
