In late autumn as the temperatures stay below freezing throughout the whole day and bodies of water begin to freeze over, there are certain moments when the ice is the perfect thickness to produce some fun acoustics. Well before ice skating would be safe, we bide our time by skipping acorns or other small rocks across the thin surface of the ice. The sounds we create are awe-inspiring and a bit eerie. Enjoy this video I made (with your sound turned up) to experience this unique circumstance.
