On New Year’s Day, Joe, our friend Erik, and I took to the forest for a hike and ice skating adventure. I haven’t seen such perfect ice skating conditions in years, nor have I seen such unique images frozen in a pond before. Here’s a gallery of some icy sunbursts and bubble rings. Any guesses about how they formed? I have some hypotheses that I will reveal in a later post, but I’d love to hear your thoughts first!
